8th Maine Regiment Lodge and Museum
A Civil War reunion hall built by veterans in 1891
The 8th Maine Regiment Lodge and Museum is on the National Historic Registry. It was originally built in 1891 as a reunion hall by Civil War veterans. Today the Lodge welcomes visitors and guests from around the world. The Lodge contains 14 rooms, each of which may be reserved by the public. The Lodge is located on the south side of Peaks Island in Casco Bay.
The Lodge has very adequate restroom facilities. All guests share them.
There are no private baths. Guests also share a communal dining hall and kitchen area.
Artifacts and written primary source material of the Civil War, most directly donated by veterans, is displayed in the building. All guests can receive a tour of the beautiful building and learn more about the role played by the 8th Maine Infantry Regiment in the Civil War.

- Hours The Lodge and Museum is open every day from June 18 to Labor Day. It is then open only on September weekends. The Lodge closes for the season on September 24, 2017. The Lodge will re open on the first two June weekends in 2018
