Bigelow Brewing Company opened to the public May 2014 operating on a 3 barrel(bbl) brew house in a refurbished horse barn as the 47th brewery to be licensed in the state of Maine. September 2016, after a year long expansion project, the current 3bbl system has been replaced with a 15 bbl system, increasing production10 fold. With heavy focus on supporting local, the brewery uses malts from Maine Malt House and BlueOx Malting. Oats and wheat are sourced from Aurora Mills & Maine Grains for several of their beers. Currently, seven flagship beers are brewed, Lying Bastard English Pale Ale, Cast Iron Bitch American Pale Ale, Bigelow Brown Ale, Dementia Dog Double IPA, Little Bigelow NEIPA, Avery Peak and Jailbreak Chocolate Chili Stout. Seasonal beers include Avery Peak Wheat Ale, Cranberry Peak Ale, Witch’s Tit Pumpkin Ale, and Rowe Road Maple Porter. The property also houses Bigelow Hops where one acre of field has been planted with Centennial and Cascade hops. Wood fired pizza using locally sourced ingredients are served on Thursday,Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
