Maine Sporting Camp Association

Experience Nature – Good Food – Historic Surroundings – Outdoor Activities

Research 47 lodging destinations within Maine's 10 million Acre Forests. Modern and rustic lodges and cabins overlook Maine's forests and lakes. Our century-old tradition of hospitality varies from complete housekeeping facilities for do-it-yourself guests, to full American plan with three hearty home-cooked meals, rental equipment, and guides. Some have recreation rooms and licensed taverns. Maine sporting camps provide guests with every opportunity to relax and enjoy Maine's woods and waters.

The Maine sporting camp tradition started over a century ago, long before L.L. Bean pulled on his first pair of boots. In fact, some camps have remained in the same family for generations and have guests who return year after year, even generation after generation. While these guests' grandparents may have traveled by railroad, steamboat, horse-drawn wagon or canoe, this generation has access by float planes, snowmobiles, and gravel logging roads.
