Hallowell has an amazing amount of wonderful dining options. Slates Bakery has fantastic scones, muffins and breads if you want a quick breakfast. There is something for every taste and craving in Hallowell.
If you want to stretch your legs or are looking for a peaceful nature walk, stroll along the Kennebec River Rail Trail or head up to Vaughan Woods, a popular trail system in the heart of the historic town, with charming stone bridges and babbling waterfalls. For a little break, relax in the colorful Adirondack chairs by the Kennebec on a sunny day and watch the river go by.
