Experience a real Maine clambake for lunch or dinner on a small, isolated island off the coast of Boothbay Harbor. After a delightful hour-long narrated cruise on the historic Bennie Alice – along the vibrant coastline of MidCoast Maine – you arrive on Cabbage Island. Once you reach the island, you will be treated to a traditional clambake, steamed over open fires between layers of fresh seaweed for perfectly cooked authentic Maine cuisine – which can be eaten indoors or out.
Your tasty meal includes all the fixings of a New England clambake with fish chowder, two lobsters or roasted half chicken, steamed clams, potato, corn on the cob and blueberry cake. Kids 11 and under can enjoy chowder, two seared hot dogs, chips, pickle, and blueberry cake. They also offer a full selection of beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks for the perfect accompaniment.
You’ll have plenty of time to savor each bite and still have time to explore the island’s trails or try your hand at games like horseshoes, volleyball and badminton. You’ll end your day with another scenic cruise back to the mainland.
Clambakes are available by reservation from June to early September.
