Begin your day on historic Main Street in downtown Rockland at Atlantic Baking Co. for a cup of locally roasted coffee, artisan baked breads and pastries made from scratch.
Stroll down the block to the Audubon Project Puffin Visitor Center. Here you will learn about the efforts to save this beloved Maine seabird.
Pack a picnic and travel to the Todd Wildlife Sanctuary in Bremen. The sanctuary has trails, tidal habitats, bird watching, and breathtaking views of Muscongus Bay.
Note: Visitors can also canoe and kayak (must bring your own vessels) to Hog Island, a ΒΌ mile paddle from the mainland.
End your day with a puffin tour aboard the Hardy III. These trips take place in late afternoon through early evening after the adult puffins settle down from the day long ritual of feeding their hungry chicks. The trip out to Eastern Egg Rock has spectacular views of Monhegan Island and the Camden Hills.
