Sitting on the beautiful Androscoggin River, the quaint community of Lisbon boasts year-round recreational opportunities, unique shopping and amazing dining including the James Beard-nominated chef at Flux Restaurant and Bar. At Flux, baking and cooking from scratch, using local ingredients is their hallmark.
The Little River Coffee Shop serves a great cup of coffee along with fresh-baked treats, breakfast and lunch. It’s a great place to start the day for outdoor enthusiasts who will enjoy the 300 acres of wooded trails and ponds at Beaver Park in Lisbon. There are also 30 miles of ATV trails and 52 miles of connected snowmobile trails in and around town.
Housed in a renovated brick church, is Maine Art Glass Studio and its Butterfly and Insect Museum. Stop in to see the handcrafted glass pieces and check out the collection of butterflies and insects.
The Sausage Kitchen is a long-time Lisbon Falls staple and folks are willing to travel to shop at this small, family-owned business specializing in all natural gourmet pork, lamb, turkey and beef products, all handmade in small batches.
Grab a beer at Olive Pit Brewing, offering a wide variety of beers from whites to reds, from fruity to sour, from dark to light, from mild to hoppy. You’re sure to find one you love. While they don’t have a kitchen, they do welcome you to bring in takeout from one of the local restaurants. Check out their calendar for live music events. For a great burger and other pub fare, go to Frank’s, housed in the old Kennebec Fruit Co. building where you will be surrounded by Moxie memorabilia.
During the summer, Lisbon and Lisbon Falls are home to two popular festivals: The Maine Blues Festival is held on Father’s Day Weekend in June and features over 20 different performers in multiple venues, and the Moxie Festival rolls into town to celebrate all things Moxie in early July. Both festivals highlight the hospitality and spirit of Lisbon with outdoor dining and live music.
